The eSpring e3 Carbon Filter is designed to treat up to 5,000 liters of water — roughly 1,320 gallons — or one year of use, whichever comes first. For the average household of two to four people, one year is the typical replacement interval. Larger families or households with high water usage may reach the 5,000-liter mark before the year is up.

The system tracks this for you. The Healthy Home app and the unit's own display monitor both water volume and time, and will alert you when a filter change is due. You do not need to guess or track it manually.

What happens if you go past the interval

The carbon filter's ability to reduce chemical contaminants and improve taste gradually decreases as it becomes saturated. The UV-C LED continues working independently — it is designed to last up to 10 years — but the carbon filtration stage loses effectiveness if not changed on schedule. Beyond the performance impact, using an expired filter means the system is no longer performing to its certified standard.
